Duo Of The Month February 2015 "Livewire"

Livewire is a cover band which has been playing around Townsville for around 10 years. They started as a full 5 piece band but it was originally based around Defence Force guys and in time postings made it difficult to keep going. They dropped to a trio and finally to the current duo which it has been for about 5 years. Rick started in the band as a drummer but now is on lead guitar. Rick has a long background in music, first playing drums in a country band when he was 16. His musical tastes are wide but he is a real ACDC fan. Chas is the rhythm guitarist and was a late starter having first picked up the guitar when he turned 40. Yes - Not2old2play. Chas music tastes are good Oz Rock, Beatles, Status Quo. Livewire is probably the most rock orientated of the Townsville duos and the two guitars give a good live feel to their music which always has a strong drive to it. They aim to get people up and dancing and singing along. Livewire has supported a number of charity concerts over the past 3 years and enjoys working with other bands in these events. Recently Livewire has branched out into country rock and can perform under the name Country Pride doing much the same as Livewire but with a country rock theme.
